Weekend itineraries: a wheelie great weekend!

The Great Canadian Gran Fondo will take to the streets Sunday morning and head from Sherwood Park to rural Strathcona County. It will start at the Emerald Hills Pavilion and head through Cambrian before crossing Highway 21 and touring around the North section of the county. Traffic disruptions will take place Sunday morning to ensure everyone’s safety—more information, including which roads will be impacted, is listed on the Gran Fondo website.    

Have you checked out the café inside the Italian Centre? Spinelli Bar Italia, unsurprisingly, has a terrific selection of sandwiches and pastries, but there’s also a full-service pizza bar and hot table full of ready-to-eat comfort food. They even make fresh gelato! Their patio has plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and delicious food. Check it out this weekend!

While checking out Spinelli’s, you HAVE to wander around the Italian Centre Shop. It opened in 2021, and it’s hard to remember life without it being in Sherwood Park. This location is the largest of the Italian Centre Shops, and it’s pretty apparent when you step inside. The deli counter alone is 70 feet long! Whether looking for items to make the perfect charcuterie board or getting ready for a summer barbecue or picnic, this is a great place to stop by.
