Weekend itineraries: more signs that Spring has arrived

Head out to Astotin Lake at Elk Island National Park on Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to enjoy Wahkotowin Outdoor Market. This Indigenous market will be full of local creators and artisans, offering a wide range of products such as handmade crafts, unique artwork, and more. With the popularity that Elk Island National Park has enjoyed over the last few years, it might be a good idea to head out earlier rather than later in the day.
man ordering ice cream at the ice cream shack
Another sign that warm weather is on the way – the Ice Cream Shack is open and ready to scoop your picks this weekend. The shack is just off Broadmoor Boulevard and Athabascan Ave and is open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day, but check their social media for updates in case of bad weather.
Interior of Tickled Floral
Mother's Day is coming, and Tickled Floral on Broadway Boulevard has everything you need to buy someone in your life a gift. This is a great weekend to stop by, as they’re also having their annual Blooms of the Beach fundraiser on Sunday. Pick up what you need for your summer gardening and help support the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation at the same time. Pre-ordering is available!
