Weekend itineraries: plenty to keep you busy

Head over to Broadmoor Lake Park on Saturday and Sunday and join in the Sherwood Park Highland Gathering that’s taking place. Enjoy the sounds of the Scottish pipes and drums while watching the heavy games, and dancing. The Gathering is free to attend, but you might want to bring some money for food trucks and the marketplace 😉. Keep your eyes open for our Welcome Adventurer pop-up tent, and we’ll see you there!

YEG Pinball expo

If video games are more your speed, then make sure to check out YEGPin – the pinball and arcade expo that’s taking place at Millennium Place all weekend. A competition tournament takes place today and tomorrow, but on Saturday and Sunday, there are free play opportunities.  Head over at check out some of the great pinball and arcade games that they bring in – there are more than 200 machines to look at!

National ice cream day was last weekend, but don’t worry, the Ice Cream Shack is open and ready to scoop your picks this weekend. The shack is found just off Broadmoor Boulevard and Athabascan Ave and is open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day but check their social media for updates in case of bad weather.

Blooms on 7 you pick flower farm

Blooms on 7 is a local flower farm outside Sherwood Park that you should stop by and check out this weekend. They have a cut flower U-pick with over 250 varieties for you to choose from. They even have an alpaca that you can have a picnic with. Check out their website to find pick out a workshop to participate in - they have everything from Brews and Blooms nights to DIY Bridal Bouquets. Another reason to stop by this weekend is that their U-pick opens on Saturday! Make your reservation online. Pssst… they’re also participating in Open Farm Days next month.
