Weekend itineraries: June has arrived

This weekend in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County

Weekend itineraries: June has arrived

Celebrate all things bison this weekend at Elk Island National Park! On Saturday, there is programming taking place all day that you can join in to learn more about the century of bison conservation that’s taken place in the park. Activities include bison backstage tours, food vendors, interpretive programs, and more. It all starts at noon, but you’ll likely want to go early to make sure you get a spot.

D spot desserts mural

There’s another new eating spot to check out in Sherwood Park! D Spot Dessert Cafe has opened a location on Baseline Road, and their doors are open and waiting for you to stop by. Their menu includes waffles, crepes, funnel cakes, and even ice cream. They also offer cakes that you can order in advance. Check their website for more information to get that sweet fix!

Sherwood Park Bakery

Tomorrow is National Donut Day! We never really need an excuse to eat a donut (or two), but this holiday is a great reason to pick some up. The Sherwood Park Bakery has been a staple in the donut game for more than 20 years. They’re a local favourite for baked goods, so we recommend going early to pick your donuts up – otherwise, you might be disappointed when they sell out.
