Weekend itineraries: Ukrainian Day

It's a great weekend to celebrate Strathcona County

Weekend itineraries: Ukrainian Day

The annual Ukrainian Day festival is returning this summer, just in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Independence. This year there will be virtual celebrations to go along with the outdoor community zabava which is taking place at Pigeon Lake. Another great way to celebrate is by heading out to the Ukrainian Cultural Village. By spending some time at this living history museum, you’ll learn just how big of an impact Ukrainian immigration had on Alberta.

Demonstration at the Ukrainian Village

While you’re on your way back from the Ukrainian Village, a great place to stop for a bite to eat is at Country Boyz Pizza. With claims that it’s the best pizza in rural Strathcona County, we’ll let you be the judge of that. Find them in the Tempo gas bar found on Wye Road and Range Rd 214; it’s worth a trip in Strathcona County no matter where you are.

Woman shopping at a jewellery store

One of the locally owned and operated jeweller shops in Sherwood Park, King’s Fine Jewellery, is an excellent option for supporting your jewellery needs locally. With instore selection to choose from, or goldsmiths to create custom pieces, you can find exactly what you’re looking for. Stop by this weekend and help support local business by treating yourself to something shiny 😉
