Job Description

This posting is for multiple hourly positions with Kinsmen Leisure Centre and Emerald Hills Leisure Centre

If connecting with people and helping them find the right solutions energizes you, this could be the role for you.

As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll be a go‑to source of information for our guests. By listening and asking the right questions, you’ll provide timely, accurate guidance on programs, services, and upcoming community events. You’ll also support our guests by processing payments and registrations for offerings such as gift cards, recreation programs, facility passes and memberships, and a variety of unique community experiences — all while creating positive and memorable interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with guests in person, by telephone, and electronically to provide knowledgeable, timely, and current information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests about products, services, and events
  • Identify guest needs and present available service options and recommendations throughout all Strathcona County Recreation, Parks and Culture opportunities  
  • Build relationships with guests and proactively address guest concerns through friendly and courteous interactions  
  • Support and assist the Supervisor and Facility Supervisor by completing administrative and support tasks which ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the facility  
  • Selling, redeeming, and processing gift cards, promotional cards, facility passes, and memberships  
  • Respond to unpredictable or volatile situations including first aid, building emergencies, or a lost child  
  • Follow facility-specific processes for cash handling, deposits, facility bookings, membership sales, program registrations, point of sale, ticketing, and specialized products and services  
  • Maintain professionalism by keeping a clean, presentable appearance while being prompt and prepared for every shift  

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills in order to facilitate positive interactions with diverse groups of individuals including co-workers, supervisors, and guests  
  • Exceptional ability to work in a team fostered environment  
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and e-mail  
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, manage and balance a variety of interests and objectives  
  • Self-directed and motivated  
  • Completion of High School Diploma with previous experience in a high-paced, guest service-oriented position  
  • Proficient computer skills, knowledge of registration software and/or ticketing software such as Intelligenz is an asset  
  • Familiarity with services and products offered in Strathcona County is an asset  
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a Customer Service or Guest Service-Oriented position

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Submission of Satisfactory Criminal Record Check  
  • Current Intermediate First Aid/CPR certification is required prior to the completion of training
