Please be aware Strathcona County offices will be closed from Wednesday, December 24 until Thursday, January 1. No permit application review or inspections will take place during the closure.  

Please plan accordingly.  

Regular business hours will resume on Friday, January 2.

You can now use ePermits for development and building permits for new dwellings. We have also added block party, noise, temporary roadway encroachment, property access approach and right-of-way construction activity permits.

Ways to apply

  • Apply online (electrical, plumbing, gas, uncovered deck and new low density residential applications are available online)
  • Mail to 2001 Sherwood Drive, Sherwood Park, AB, T8A 3W7
  • In person at County Hall, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    (no appointment necessary)

*Electrical, plumbing and gas permits can be issued over the counter, while you wait.
