Most fatal collisions happen at intersections

Each year, 35 to 40 per cent of collisions in the County happen at intersections. In 2016, 58 people were killed and 7,623 were injured in intersection related collisions across the province.

Our safety goal

Strathcona County’s goal is zero serious injuries or deaths on our road network. In the last five years, 59% of fatal collisions in the County happened at intersections.

To increase the safety of intersections, we:
