Get a free shower timer

A shower timer is a great option for those who lose track of time and will help you limit your showers. 

Every minute adds up. Reducing your showers by one minute will save enough water in a year for the average household to water their entire yard all summer.

Pick up a free shower time from County Hall's main reception or from the Information Desk at the Community Centre. Limited quantities available.

Replace your shower head

Older shower head models use more water. Replacing your shower head with a new or WaterSense brand shower head will save significantly more water and can also lower your water bill. You can find shower heads at most home hardware stores.
 

The table below shows the difference between shower heads.

WaterSense(R)	7.6 litres per minute

 

Strathcona County has a water conservation goal of 200 litres or water per person per day.
