During special events throughout the year, Strathcona County Transit provides express shuttle service and extended service from Bethel Transit Terminal. Some shuttles are free and some have a nominal fee to cover a portion of the service costs. 

RCMP Musical Ride Free shuttles June 15 and 17

On May 23, 2023 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will mark its 150th anniversary of service to the public and security of our country. In recognition of the 150-year milestone, Strathcona County is hosting two RCMP Musical Rides on June 15 and 17. There will be no on-site parking for either event.

Bethel Transit Terminal (BTT) to Strathcona Olympiette Centre (SOC) 
June 15, 4:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

  • Trips to the SOC take approximately 30 minutes.
  • You will be picked up for your return trip in the same location where you are dropped off - watch for signage.
  • There will be a break in departures from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. when the Musical Ride is over.

Bethel Transit Terminal to Ardrossan 
June 17, 9:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.

It is important to note that while everyone is welcome to take the bus to Ardrossan to enjoy the Ardrossan Day parade and celebrations, only individuals with a wristband will be admitted into the Musical Ride grounds to watch the show. There will be no exceptions.

  • Buses will depart at the Bethel Transit Terminal and arrive in Ardrossan's Holy Redeemer School approximately 30 minutes later. 
  • You will be picked up for your return trip in the same location where you are dropped off - watch for signage.
  • There will be a break in service from 11 a.m. to noon due to the parade.
  • There will be a break in service from 1:45 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. during the Musical Ride program.

Canada Day Shuttle to Broadmoor Park - July 1
8:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.

Free all-day Canada Day shuttle from Bethel Transit Terminal To Broadmoor Lake Park to allow residents to participate in the Canada Day Festival and Fireworks. Parking in the area is limited and the Park N' Ride at the Bethel Transit Terminal is greatly recommended especially when the weather is good. Buses will drop-off and pick-up passengers next to Festival Place. Watch for signage.

Buses run every 15 minutes

To Festival Place

  • First bus from Bethel Transit Terminal to Festival Place at 8:30 a.m.
  • Last bus from Bethel Transit Terminal to Festival Place at 10:45 p.m.
     

Return to Bethel Transit Terminal

  • First bus from Festival Place to Bethel Transit Terminal at 8:45 a.m.
  • Last bus from Festival Place to Bethel Transit Terminal at 11:45 p.m.
  • Buses will leave directly after the fireworks once they are full, and may not necessarily wait for the 15 minute departure times in order to most efficiently return people to their vehicles at the end of the night.

Please note due to safety issues:

  • Only strollers with lockable wheels are allowed on buses. 
  • Standard wagons are not allowed. Collapsible wagons are permitted if collapsed and kept at feet.

Shuttle service is typically provided for:

  • Trade Fair at Millennium Place: second week in April
  • Canada Day activities in Sherwood Park
  • Heritage Days: August long weekend
  • New Year's Eve in Sherwood Park: December 31
