Alcohol in Picnic Sites

Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted between May 6 and October 15, with the exception of the Strathcona Wilderness Centre which permits responsible alcohol consumption year-round.

Adults of legal drinking age are only permitted to consume alcohol at designated picnic tables - clearly labelled with the appropriate signage, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Alcohol consumption will not be allowed in areas outside of the designated picnic site area.

Sites include:

Centennial Park picnic shelter and fire pits
Broadmoor Lake Park’s north lake picnic areas
Cloverbar Ranch Park picnic shelter
Josephburg picnic area (near pickleball courts)
Strathcona Wilderness Centre (times vary; call 780-922-3939)
South Cooking Lake picnic shelter
