Fieldhouse project updates

  • As part of Council's 2024 budget deliberations, Council approved $65 million for the construction of the fieldhouse. 
  • The County has awarded Chandos-Bird IPD Team the contract for design and construction of the fieldhouse project.
  • The design and scope of the facility will focus on a full-sized turf field and supporting spaces.
  • The need for the Fieldhouse was identified as the top priority identified in the Recreation and Culture Strategy Implementation Plan.

Location

A central, accessible site has been selected for the indoor fieldhouse. The site is located east of Broadmoor Boulevard on Buckingham Drive (595.9 KB) , and is central to Millennium Place and Centennial Park, Bethel Transit Terminal, Emerald Hills Leisure Centre and Sally Stewart Regional Park.
