Born and raised in Sherwood Park, Robert is proud to serve the community that shaped him. Re-elected in 2025, he represents Ward One with a focus on practical decision-making, fiscal responsibility, and open, respectful dialogue with residents.

A graduate of Salisbury Composite High School, Robert studied International Commerce at the University of Alberta and Simon Fraser University. Before entering public office, he spent over a decade in the financial services sector, working as a Financial Advisor, Branch Manager, and in agricultural lending. He later worked with small, medium, and large organizations to support growth, sustainability, and job creation, experience that continues to inform his approach to local government.

On Council, Robert strives to be a steady and thoughtful voice, focused on protecting core services, supporting local businesses, and ensuring Strathcona County remains a vibrant, liveable, and affordable place for people of all ages. He believes strong communities are built through sound financial stewardship, thoughtful planning, and accountability to residents.

Robert currently serves on several committees on Council, including the Governance Advisory Committee, Seniors Advisory Committee, and Intermunicipal Affairs Committee. He also represents Strathcona County on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Board, ARROW Utilities, and supports Mayor Frank on Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association, contributing to regional collaboration and national municipal advocacy.

Deeply connected to Ward 1, Robert remains committed to listening, learning, and leading with integrity. He is married to his wife Leslie, an elementary school teacher. Their shared commitment to education and community reflects the values that guide his work on Council.

Outside of Council, Robert enjoys staying active and engaged in the community. He is a lifelong fan of the Oilers, Elks, and Crusaders, a competitive five-pin bowler, an avid reader and home cook, and a proud dog lover.
