About

Family and Community Services (FCS) is a partnership between the Alberta Government and Strathcona County. 

FCS enriches the lives of our residents by building a safe, supported and connected community. As a knowledgeable and trusted partner, FCS provides a range of supportive programs and services to help community members grow, learn and navigate challenges through all stages of their lives.

In addition to social service support, FCS conducts research that helps shape Strathcona County's priorities and develops social policies that identify and address emerging community needs.

Our services

• Provide affordable services through Solutions Navigation and Counselling to support community members through all life's challenges, promoting prevention and early intervention.
• Provides co-located working space for community partners, creating a centralized, connected network of support for residents. 
• Provide affordable, light housekeeping services to eligible seniors in our community through the HomeHelp Program. 
• Provide free educational programs and services for families, parents, children and youth that foster connection, skills building, resiliency and healthy family bonds through the Family Resource Network.
• Provide in-school and community educational programming that fosters resiliency and socio-emotional learning in children, youth and families through the Mental Health Capacity Building program.
• Support social sector planning and evaluation while working closely with community to spearhead large projects that support the social fabric of Strathcona County. 
• Connect community members and organizations with grant funding through FCS' Community Grants and Social Framework Grants.
