With Arc, riders have monthly fare caps. The caps mean riders won't pay more than a maximum each month based on their account profile type and the service type which they travel. For riders using an Arc card, we recommend keeping at least a $5 balance in your Arc purse to avoid a low balance warning (yellow) or a deny travel warning (red) near the end of each month. When a riders Arc purse has between $1 and $4 the (yellow) low balance warning will appear, even if the monthly cap has been reached. To avoid this the rider will need to top-up their purse. When a riders purse falls below $1 the (red) deny travel warning will appear, even if the monthly cap has been reached. The Arc card requires a minimum balance of at least $1 in order for the card to validate.
For riders using a mobile payment method (debit card, credit card or mobile wallet), the daily trips will accumulate and be charged to the bank account at the end of the service day. A standard monthly cap applies to all anonymous accounts. If you are eligible for a reduced monthly cap, ensure your payment method is set up and linked to a registered Arc account.

Learn more about the Advantage Parking program at the Bethel Transit Terminal.
Residents can apply for subsidized transit based on income. Arc fare capping is available for those individuals and families that may qualify for Subsidized fares.Â
For more information about eligibility contact Family and Community Services at 780-464-4044.
Already approved, contact Strathcona County Transit at 780-464-RIDE or visit us in-person at the Bethel Transit Terminal.
Sometimes your trip may require a transfer between different buses or services (LRT). Strathcona County Transit works with our regional partners in Edmonton and St. Albert to help you reach your destination.
If using an Arc card loaded with funds, any appliable fee is deducted directly from the Arc purse if transfer rules are in place between the agencies. If there are no transfers rules in place then a rider must pay full fare for both services.
If using an Arc ticket, only a Regional ticket is valid for transfers between agencies.
