A new basketball court is coming to the Emerald Hills Regional Park in Summer 2023. This recreational amenity provides an inclusive and accessible court to support community connectedness and well-being.
On October 8, 2019, Council approved the Recreation and Culture Strategy, which identified several opportunities and ways to address current and future recreational needs. One of the opportunities identified in the Recreation and Culture Strategy was the implementation of additional basketball courts.
The Emerald Hills Regional Park was chosen due to the many synergies and positive site characteristics such as: accessible parking, proximity to public transportation, ability to support school programming, and close proximity to other indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities.
