Biography
Jacquie Fenske is currently serving her fourth term as Councillor for Ward 5 in Strathcona County. She is proud to represent this diverse ward that includes the hamlets of Ardrossan and Josephburg as well as over 60 country residential subdivisions, some of Alberta's most productive farmland and Alberta's Industrial Heartland.
Jacquie received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and has taught for over 13 years. She also completed her Commercial Copywriting Certificate from Columbia School of Broadcasting. She has been actively involved in her family's business Fife N' Dekel in charge of the group of companies for several years and now working on special projects. The award winning chain of Delis is a source of pride as is the opportunity to represent her community. She currently resides near Josephburg and her children are the fourth generation to operate the farm. The focus of the operation has changed through the years and now revolves around the horse industry. The jury is still out whether quarter horses or Arabians are the breed of choice. She prefers to limit her involvement to that of hitching post, however she learned to clean barns before making that choice so hasn't been able to escape chores.
Jacquie is very involved in her community. She has served as president of the Josephburg Agricultural Society, the Fort Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey Club and Josephburg Figure Skating Club. Her love of theatre has led her to serve on the board of the Canadian Child Youth Drama Association, to chair the Edmonton Drama Fest and to direct several productions including Grease, Guys and Dolls and even some original collaborations.
