Enjoying Strathcona County

What really countsĀ - enjoying Strathcona County!!

Council has embarked on a number of very visionary projects this year and has seen an increase in the number of concerns from its residents. While I am the first to admit there were, and are, a number of very legitimate concerns regarding a number of these projects, we felt for the sake of the residents they must be undertaken and completed. This does not mean we cannot re-evaluate the direction and procedures as we implement them. We are committed to listen, and where feasible and reasonable, bend in whatever direction to make it easier for you our residents, to not only accept but embrace the projects.

While this is the first time I have ever encountered the number and diversity of complaints from our residents during this particular time of year, I try not to lose sight of one extremely important aspect. For me, this is the time of year I get to enjoy just what Strathcona County is all about. The last couple of weeks has given us beautiful weather and brought out all the fruits that mother nature can bestow on our community. From taking holidays at the lake, to taking in the many events being held in our community or just enjoying the sun on your back deck. Always remember it is not long to when you will enjoy the colder portion of our year. Look around you and survey the many pleasures you can enjoy with this time of year and take into consideration what really counts in your quality of life. I understand we need certain amenities but never discount the ones that are there for the taking and even more importantly that do not come with a price tag. Remember we are here now and God has given us an opportunity to enjoy pleasures we may only see once. We should never lose sight of the fact that pleasures such as these are really what make life worth living.

Have a great rest of the summer and if I can help you enjoy it even in a small way, please do not hesitate to call me.
