2017 Meeting Schedule
Council meetings and Priorities Committee meetings are held in Council Chambers, Community Centre, 2001 Sherwood Drive, Sherwood Park, Alberta.
The In-Camera portion of the Council meeting is closed to the public to discuss matters as permitted under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The open session of the Council meeting commences at 2:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted on the agenda) and members of the public are welcome to attend. The open session of the Priorities Committee meeting commences at 9:00 a.m. (unless otherwise noted on the agenda) and members of the public are welcome to attend.
The Priorities Committee is dedicated to monitor progress of Council’s Strategic Plan and provide a forum for evolving topics. The committee will help to ensure program and service delivery aligns to the County’s vision and give attention to priority setting. Priorities Committee meetings will also provide a regular forum for public engagement in local government, including public open houses, delegations, and presentations and updates from departments, business and community organizations, and individual citizens on matters important to them.

Council and Priorities Committee meeting agendas and reports are posted to this website the Wednesday before the meeting date.
Council meeting and Priorities Committee minutes are posted once approved by Council. Council minutes prior to July 16, 2002 can be obtained by contacting the Legislative Officer at 780-464-8105 or 780-410-8577.
Provide an opportunity for members of the public to speak to Council on advertised planning and development matters.
We encourage anyone interested in speaking at a Public Hearing to register by emailing LegislativeOfficer@Strathcona.ca or calling 780-464-8105 by 4:00 p.m. the day before the hearing (please provide your full name, the bylaw number, and indicate if you are in favour or opposed).
You may also register to speak in person at the public hearing; however, anyone registered prior to the hearing will be heard first. Presentation time is limited to five minutes per speaker. Written submissions are also accepted for Public Hearings and will be distributed to all of Council.
Personal information is being collected under the authority of Section 33 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will be used for purposes of managing and administering the public hearing and to schedule you as a speaker. If you have any questions regarding the collection and use of your personal information, please contact the Legislative Officer at 780-464-8105.
Please note that public hearings, including presentations made by speakers, are recorded. The meetings are made available for viewing on the County’s public website and the names of presenters along with a brief description of their position is included in the minutes. All written submissions for public hearings are made available for public viewing.
Council Open House
Council Open Houses are held as part of the Priorities Committee meeting each month. They provide an opportunity for members of the public to speak to Council once on any topic (some restrictions apply).
To register to speak call 780-464-8105 or 780-410-8577. Please register in advance. People who have registered in advance will be heard first. You also have the option to add your name to the list of speakers at the meeting.
Presentation time is limited to five minutes for each speaker. Written comments are also accepted. The names of presenters become part of the public record. Other personal information is protected by the privacy provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act.
