Institution - Tabulator Clerk

Strathcona County 2010 Election - Monday, October 18, 2010
Hours of work: 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Pick-up and return the vote tabulator to County Hall
- Assist with setting up the voting station as directed by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor
- Be stationed at various institutions
- Assist voters with depositing voted ballots into vote tabulator if requested
- Identify ballot issues to voters for correction
- Other duties as required by the Presiding Deputy – Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Previous experience as an election worker is an asset
- Must have mathematical, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal courteously with the public
- Experience working with sick and/or elderly people is an asset
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle with insurance. Proof of insurance will be required.
- Must be physically able to lift supplies weighing up to 30-50 lbs
- Must attend a mandatory training session
The wage for this Election Day position is $180. Successful applicants will be compensated $45 for attending the mandatory three hour training session in early October in addition to $15 for mileage.
