All businesses in Alberta must have a current Fire Safety Plan. The Fire Safe Facility program was developed to assist Strathcona County business owners to write a concise, informative and law-abiding plan with ease.
This program provides business owners with examples to follow, explanations of terminology and the opportunity for the business to be visited by a Safety Codes Officer. The owner and officer will review the completed plan for final approval.
Additional information will also be asked about the business property. This information will be used by Strathcona County Emergency Services only in the event of an emergency call to the facility. Knowing both the floorplan as well as on-site risks within a business allows crews to save lives faster - and stay safe.
