The community we serve
Our Emergency Services staff serve 87,998 residents (as of the 2009 Census) and major industries in both rural and urban areas. The County's area of 1,265 square kilometres includes the urban centre of Sherwood Park and a surrounding rural area with rural hamlets, acreage developments, farms and other holdings.
Strathcona County is home to heavy industry, including major oil refineries and is a centre of Alberta's petrochemical and manufacturing industry. Emergency Services works in close cooperation with our industry partners.
