Winter Freeze Fest December 30 - January 4

A number of activities have been planned throughout Strathcona County to celebrate the start of the new year, while building the excitement leading up to Rogers Hometown Hockey Check back frequently for updates to the schedule.

    The Emerald Hills skating pathway (4501 Emerald Drive) features a heated change facility.

  • 8. Broadmoor Arena

    January 4

    • Cheer on the Hood Rush sledge hockey team from Robin Hood Association, 10 – 11 a.m. Admission is free.
  • 9. Strathcona Wilderness Centre

    Tuesday, January 1, 2019 

    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    Located at:
    Township Road 530 and Range Road 212 (GPS co-ordinates: N 53° 31.957' W 112° 59.964)

    Dress warmly, bring a mug and head to the Strathcona Wilderness Centre for a day of winter fun! Enjoy a blazing campfire, hot chocolate, and tasty treats for the whole family.

    Activities include:

    • Snowshoeing and Cross-country skiing
    • Toonie Ski Lessons (1 p.m. or 3 p.m.)
    • Toonie Snowshoe Ramble (2 p.m.)

    Proceeds from Toonie lessons go to the Strathcona Food Bank.

    Regular trail and rental fees apply.
