Unplanned water ban to remain in place over weekend

Unplanned water ban to remain in place over weekend

The following is an update to Strathcona County’s water ban.

Strathcona County continues to ban all non-essential water use over the weekend. An update will be provided on Monday, September 11.

EPCOR continues to work on returning the supply line to normal operation over the weekend. Once the supply line is operating, the water reservoirs in Strathcona County will need time to replenish.

The ban is required due to an unplanned broken valve replacement which occurred during EPCOR construction activities. This combined with hot weather has created a high demand on the County’s water system.

The ban applies to residents in Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Josephburg, Half Moon Lake, Collingwood Cove, Antler Lake and Fultonvale. Residents are being advised to use water for essential purposes only.

Water truck fill stations in Sherwood Park, Ardrossan and Half Moon Lake will continue to be closed until further notice.

Updates on the water restriction will be available:

Residents are encouraged to sign up for Strathcona County Alerts (SC Alerts) for notification on water bans and restrictions via www.strathcona.ca/scalerts.

Please share this update with neighbours!
