Water ban lifted

Water ban lifted

The water ban in Strathcona County has been lifted effective immediately. Water reservoir levels have returned to normal. Truck fills are now open.

“Thank you to residents and businesses for their cooperation to conserve water during the ban,” said Jeff Hutton, Director of Utilities. “Safe water is our primary responsibility. While restrictions can be an inconvenience, they are critical to get the system back to normal and to avoid more serious implications.”

The ban was required to manage the County’s water supply and ensure adequate water supply for essential use as EPCOR repaired a major supply line.

With the ban lifted, residents are still encouraged to use water-wise habits and find ways to make water conservation part of their daily lives. More information on water conservation.

Residents are also encouraged to sign up for Strathcona County Alerts (SC Alerts) for notification on water bans and restrictions.
