County launches first podcast focusing on connection and wellbeing

On Wednesday, June 7 Strathcona County will launch its very first podcast titled, You Belong Here. This five-episode series focuses on the theme of connection and is hosted by three members of Strathcona County Family and Community Services’ Solutions Navigation team; Doneka, Brad and Ashley.

Created and developed in-house, each You Belong Here episode dives into the importance of connection in Strathcona County and will provide tangible mental health tools at the convenience of the listener. The mental health tools and supports explored in each episode reflect the programs and services currently available to residents through Family and Community Services.

“Developing connection and exploring why it is important is so valuable to the fabric of our community,” says Lori Prediger, Manager of Human Services & Innovation. “Having these conversations in a podcast format will make them accessible and will put a spotlight on why connection is important to a healthy community and how we can support it.”

Beginning in June, episodes will be released once per month and will focus on a different topic related to fostering a sense of connection in the community. In each 20-minute episode, the hosts engage in thought-provoking discussions and present both ideas for community connection and resources available.
