Pitch-In and help beautify our community

Strathcona County residents are invited to show their community pride and “Pitch-In,” with waste removal from May 1 to 31. This annual campaign brings volunteers together to help remove waste left behind after the spring thaw.

Last year’s Pitch-In campaign saw 4,628 residents volunteer and 1,112 bags of waste collected. Participants also donated around 2,469 hours of their time, in just one month!

Residents are encouraged to join the clean-up effort in their own neighbourhoods. The County supplies garbage bags for individuals or groups who register for Pitch-In. Pitch-In bags are available for pick-up at the Recreation, Parks and Culture administration office (2025 Oak Street, Sherwood Park) during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday). Additional information, including the Pitch-In event registration form, is available online at strathcona.ca/pitchin or by calling 780-467-2211.

Pitch-In Canada is the largest and only multi-provincial environmental improvement campaign in Canada. It involves over 625,000 Canadians volunteering to help clean-up, restore and preserve the environment. Pitch-In Canada has been in existence for over 50 years.
