2017 municipal election candidate information session

In a new offering for the 2017 municipal election, Strathcona County will be hosting an information session for citizens interested in running as a candidate for municipal office.

Serving as a member of Council is an opportunity to significantly influence the future of a community through decisions and policy-making that impact its residents. The Strathcona County municipal election will be held on October 16, 2017, with Nomination Day on September 18, 2017.

The Candidate Information Session will take place on Wednesday, June 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Council Chambers, located in the Community Centre at 401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park.

The information session will cover a range of topics including nomination process, election process, what to expect if elected, and roles and responsibilities. Advance registration for the session is encouraged and can be done by emailing election@strathcona.ca or by calling 780-400-2017.
