Citizens invited to complete strategic directions survey

Strathcona County is again seeking citizen input on the County’s strategic plan and priority-based approach to business planning and budgeting. The strategic directions survey will run from April 21 to May 14, and is available online.

The survey helps Strathcona County gauge citizen awareness of the County’s strategic plans and priorities. This information will help guide future communication and engagement efforts designed to increase resident understanding. The survey also asks residents to describe what is important to them in a livable community – input that will inform future discussions related to strategic priorities. Results of previous years’ surveys have been used to measure the County’s progress in its corporate business plan.

An engaged community is vital if the County is to realize its vision of becoming Canada’s most livable community.

Set in the centre of Alberta’s energy and agricultural heartland, Strathcona County is a thriving, successful and vibrant community of over 98,000 residents. Strathcona County is made up of the urban area of Sherwood Park and a large adjacent rural area of farms, acreages and smaller hamlets. It is home to 75 per cent of refining in Western Canada. With a focus on economic, governance, social, cultural and environmental sustainability, Strathcona County is committed to balancing the unique needs of its diverse community.
