Citizens invited to complete strategic directions survey

Strathcona County is seeking citizen input on which of the 12 strategic goals to focus next, as it prepares to develop the County’s next four-year business plan (2019 – 2022).  The strategic directions survey will run from November 3 to November 26. Open houses have also been scheduled.

The County’s strategic plan, released in 2013, set out a long-term vision and identified 12 community priorities to be advanced over the next 20 plus years. In developing its first, four-year corporate business plan, the County focused on advancing four of these goals, and introduced the priority-based approach to business planning and budgeting.

As the first planning cycle comes to an end, the County is looking for input to assess whether more work is required on the original goals, or whether it is time to shift the organizations focus to other priorities. Citizen input will inform conversations with Strathcona County Council, who review the strategic goals each year, and contribute to assessing their priority in light of the next four-year planning cycle.

An engaged community is vital if the County is to realize its vision of becoming Canada’s most livable community.

Set in the centre of Alberta’s energy and agricultural heartland, Strathcona County is a thriving, successful and vibrant community of over 98,000 residents.
