County to host national Communities in Bloom symposium and awards

Strathcona County is honoured to be chosen to host the 2018 Communities in Bloom National Symposium on Parks and Grounds and National Awards.        

The symposium, with over 300 delegates from across Canada, is an opportunity to showcase Strathcona County on a national stage. This event provides the unique opportunity for elected officials, parks and grounds professionals and community volunteers to learn from each other regarding current trends and challenges in horticulture, gardening, community tourism and environmental awareness.

In 2015, Strathcona County won in the national Communities in Bloom Grand Champions Category.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification. This organization focuses on community involvement and coordinates a national program that promotes the enhancement green spaces in Canadian communities.
