Annual municipal land licensing program offers land to area farmers

Each year, the County offers area farmers and owners of livestock the opportunity to license land for use as hay and pasture land. The program promotes the efficient use of land and encourages agricultural activities in the County.

“The program benefits both the County and our valued agricultural base.”, said Sharon Fitzowich, Project Lead, Land Management, Strathcona County. Fitzowich added, “Through licensing the land, maintenance demands decrease and the land gets to be used. It’s really a win-win for us and the community.”

The invitation to tender available lands is open to area residents until 2 p.m., Friday, November 18. To learn more details and how to apply or contact Land Management Services at 780-464-8080.
