Residents invited to discuss policy options at Municipal Development Plan open house

Strathcona County residents are invited to discuss potential policy options in Phase 3 of the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) update. The MDP sets out a clear vision for how the County will grow and develop.

“Our community needs to be involved in every phase of the Municipal Development Plan,” says Mayor Roxanne Carr. “It’s a guiding document that has an impact on every resident and business in Strathcona County. It also guides Council decisions on key issues like conservation of the natural environment and investment in infrastructure and services.”

There are many options on key topic areas, such as sustainable tourism, agriculture, community housing and more, that need public input to help inform the update. Residents are invited to drop in any time between 6 to 8 p.m.:

Thursday, October 8
Gibson Room, Millennium Place
2000 Premier Way
Sherwood Park

During Phase 2, residents shared what they value most about Strathcona County and weighed in on how to build on strengths while planning for the future.
