Take a bite out of summer at Savour Strathcona County

Savour Strathcona County will be back this summer to delight arts and culinary enthusiasts. Now in its fourth year, the celebration brings together chefs from local, independent restaurants, to create culinary dishes from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

“I encourage residents to enjoy Sunday afternoon at Savour Strathcona County with family and friends,” says Mayor Roxanne Carr. “It’s a wonderful way for the community to show their support for our local artists and restaurants.”

The event will be held on Sunday, July 5, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Agora at the Community Centre, 401 Festival Lane, Sherwood Park. Activities include:

  • ‘Nature Of’ in concert from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on outdoor stage
  • Thirteen local restaurateurs and four food trucks
  • Twenty-three artists and artisans showcasing their unique wares
  • Summer salad demonstrations
  • Children’s crafts

“This event is an excellent opportunity for independent restaurateurs to gain additional exposure for their business and to showcase their offerings to an engaged audience,” says Gerry Gabinet, Director of Economic Development and Tourism.

Admission is free for all on-site activities. Taste tickets cost $5 for a set of five. Artwork will be available for sale.
