Awarded contracts now online

Strathcona County is pleased to announce its new Notice of Awarded Contracts (NAC) program as part of an ongoing commitment to open and transparent procurement practices. Through this initiative, the County’s awarded contracts for construction, services and goods, and purchase orders with a value of $50,000 or more, will be shared each month on the County’s website.

“Taking the extra step to post information about our awarded contracts demonstrates transparency and accountability. It helps to inform and build trust with citizens, business and industry,” says Mayor Roxanne Carr. “The program is another way the County uses its Open Data portal to provide convenient, free and open access to government information.”

Procurement Services developed the NAC program in collaboration with internal departments and in consultation with the Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce. Parameters were established to demonstrate accountability for transparent procurement practices.

Awarded contracts data for the months of April and May is now available and new contract awards will be posted at the start of each month.
