Pride of Strathcona Awards - Nominate by March 31

February 27, 2015

Do you know someone who is making a big difference in our community? Someone who goes above and beyond as an outstanding volunteer, in a professional endeavour, or as an individual or team athlete? Nominate them for a Pride of Strathcona Award—the deadline for nominations is March 31, 2015.

“This is an opportunity to pay tribute to our citizens who contribute their time and talent to make a positive difference in our quality of life and in our community,” says Mayor Roxanne Carr. “Whether they are getting noticed beyond County borders, or making a world of difference for people here at home, we look forward to applauding their efforts and celebrating success. I encourage citizens to nominate individuals, groups or teams for a Pride of Strathcona Award.”

The Pride of Strathcona Awards recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in the categories: Community Service; Arts, Culture and Heritage; Agricultural Leadership; Professional Achievement; Youth; Service to Seniors, Heroism, Sports and Recreation Development, Athletic Achievement for first-, second- or third-place standing at a national or international competition; and Outstanding Group.

This year’s awards ceremonies will take place on June 15 at Festival Place.
