County residents are invited to a free pancake breakfast at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex on Sunday, October 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. as part of the kickoff to National Family Week activities hosted by Strathcona County.

Following the theme of ‘Family and Finances: It Just Adds Up”, this year’s National Family Week is bursting with free family workshops throughout the County. Topics include learning about local family fun ideas that won’t break the bank, budgeting, credit card usage and hassle-free shopping with kids. Registration is required for the workshops. Workshop date and location details are available by calling 780-464-4044.

Beginning October 5, residents can also enter to win a family games night package by sharing frugal family fun ideas via the County’s Facebook,
Twitter (@StrathcoCounty, use #SCfrugalfun) or calling 780-464-4044. The winning submission will be chosen through a random draw of eligible submissions. Contest closes 4:30 p.m. on October 10, 2014.
