Pride of Strathcona Awards - Nominate by March 31

Excelling in athletics, giving of one’s professional talents to make a big difference in the lives of others, or contributing above and beyond as an outstanding volunteer or leader whether young or young at heart ─ if you know an individual, group or team matching this ─ nominate them for a 2014 Pride of Strathcona Award.

The Pride of Strathcona Awards recognize outstanding contributions and achievements within the categories: Community Service; Arts, Culture and Heritage; Agricultural Leadership; Professional Achievement; Youth; Seniors; Athletic Achievement for first-, second- or third- place standing at a national or international competition; and Sports and Recreation Development. 

The deadline for nominations is March 31, 2014. 

“We want to salute our community volunteers, and those who bring recognition to our home through their significant achievements and contributions,” says Mayor Roxanne Carr. “These citizens make a positive difference in our quality of life, economic strength and cultural richness, and we look forward to applauding their efforts. 

I encourage citizens of Strathcona County to nominate fellow citizens, groups or teams for a Pride of Strathcona Award.”

This year’s awards ceremonies will take place on June 23 at Festival Place.
