Celebrate Christmas in the Country on December 6

The communities in south rural Strathcona County are hosting the second annual Christmas in the Country on Saturday, December 6. Festive activities and shopping will be featured at locations throughout the region, closing with the Light Up South Strathcona grand finale at the Strathcona County South Contact Office.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the following venues will offer craft fairs and other activities including sleigh rides (Deville location) and delicious holiday treats. Vendors and concessions will be cash sales only.

From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Light Up South Strathcona will run at the South Contact Office, located at Fire Station 2, 22142 South Cooking Lake Road. More holiday fun is in store with free refreshments, musical performances, family activities and spectacular fireworks to “light up” the season.

A Christmas in the Country bus tour is also available. The bus will leave from County Hall at 9 a.m. and return at about 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, available by pre-purchase at County Hall, while quantities last.
