This posting is for multiple hourly positions at Millennium Place
As a Recreation Attendant for Millennium Place, you will interact with guests to provide high-quality customer service, complete ongoing facility maintenance, and ensure a safe and clean environment.
Reporting to the Events and Booking Specialist, your responsibilities will focus on our rental clients to assist with preparations, checking attendee’s in/out, and ensuring their rental needs are met.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise facility guests, monitor equipment and building conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
- Address patron concerns in a positive and polite manner
- Greet clients attending for rental opportunities, help with inquiries, and have the rental space cleaned and prepared
- Complete assigned daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of facility and grounds to meet or exceed provincial health and safety standards
- Perform assigned duties to support facility needs and other facility staff including receiving and storing deliveries, snow removal, equipment setup, special event setup, and exterior clean up
- Perform manual tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and disinfecting to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Attend regular training on customer services and emergency procedures, including power failures, fire alarms, and building securityAbility to perform physical tasks such as room set-up/take down and cleaning
Qualifications and Skills
- Exceptional customer services skills with the ability to interact with facility guests in a positive manner
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing needs
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to use good judgement when assisting customers
- Minimum completion of Grade 10
- High school diploma plus experience in a customer service setting is an asset
- Daytime availability is an asset
- Availability for evening, weekend, and statutory holiday shifts
- Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification is required
Conditions of Employment
- Submission of Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, and room set-up/takedown
- Ability to complete WHMIS certification upon employment (provided)
