Job Description

The Senior Analyst, Financial ERP is apart of the Business Excellence (BEX) department and will work closely with the Financial & Strategic Services (FSS) department leading operational support and continuous improvement of Strathcona County’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application Oracle Fusion. 


This role provides recommendations to address problems or improvements and leads the implementation of those recommendations. This position also executes configuration changes in Oracle Fusion, with larger and more complex changes, the Senior Analyst, Financial ERP will leverage project management methodologies to effectively manage the implementation of the desired change. 


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the operational sustainment of Oracle Fusion Financial Management modules, ensuring financial management processes are properly supported
  • Lead issue investigation, including coordination of issue review between relevant stakeholders, investigation from technical and functional perspectives to identify potential causes, research and develop recommendations for solutions, and lead engagement with product vendor support and/or 3rd-party product support
  • Guide the development of issue solutions, including the design of system configuration changes and/or transaction processing procedures, to resolve the issue
  • Steer solution testing, including executing unit testing, leading user acceptance testing (UAT), bug-fix resolution and UAT sign-off
  • Lead continuous improvement of Oracle Fusion Financial Management modules, ensuring financial management processes remain efficient, effective, and relevant
  • Develop recommendations for improvement solutions, and lead engagements with SMEs and other relevant stakeholders to evaluate and make decisions on recommendations


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Diploma or degree in Accounting or Information Technology, with experience focusing on financial ERP application administration, including: application functionality, general ledger and subledger interactions, maintaining application configuration settings, developing, modifying, or maintaining reports, and ERP application sustainment and support
  • Demonstrated functional understanding of financial management and accounting function is required
  • At least 7 years progressively responsible and related experience working in the implementation and/or operational sustainment of financial ERP systems 
  • Training, certification, and/or experience in Oracle Cloud Financials and/or Questica Budget will be considered an asset
  • Business analysis, project management, and/or change management experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with MS project, MS Visio, IBM BlueWorks Live or other process modelling tools would be an asset
