About
May 1 - 7 is Mental Health Week in Strathcona County. Mental Health Week is a national initiative led by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
This year’s theme is "My Story" which describes how everyone has layers and their own unique stories.
In addition to CMHA's theme, the County will promote a more connected and supported community through education about Mental Health.
Mental health education
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Understanding mental health is a key step in learning how to identify your feelings and emotions and enables us all to seek the right kind of support when we need it.
Mental Health Literacy is an excellent resource that teaches us about the different types of mental health states and gives us the right language to identify our emotions and challenges that we are experiencing.
By educating ourselves, we can build a community that is more knowledgeable about mental health and helps us support one another through life's challenges.
