Child and Youth Coalition

Let's make time for play.

The Child and Youth Coalition engages families, community members and organizations on behalf of children and youth. Coalition members raise public awareness about the importance of child and youth development, and help to identify community needs, issues and opportunities in order to improve supports for children youth and their families.

By working together, we can help children and youth reach their full potential.

National Child Day, Children should be seen and heard

National Child Day

Children have the right to be seen and heard.

National Child Day is celebrated on November 20 each year. National Child Day has been celebrated across Canada since 1993 to commemorate the United Nations' adoption of two documents centered on children's rights.

Celebrating National Child Day is about celebrating children as active participants in their own lives and in communities, as active citizens who can and should meaningfully contribute to decision-making. There are many reasons to celebrate children, but most of all because children deserve to be recognized as important members of our community.

Now more than ever it is crucial that we support the children and youth in our community, to let them know that they have a voice and that they should be celebrated.
