Strathcona County Art Gallery@501 is celebrating 10 years of inclusive arts and culture opportunities and is now hosting a virtual exhibition experience, "Walking Gently: Spirit Stories and the 13 Moons", featuring two Métis artists. We had the opportunity to ask the artists what it meant to them to share cultural knowledge and connection through their paintings.

National Child Day is about celebrating children as active participants in their own lives, as active citizens who can and should meaningfully contribute to decision-making in their community. To celebrate, Strathcona County Child and Youth Coalition held a creative mask design competition as an opportunity for children and youth to express themselves through art, poetry, and creative writing.

Community-builders in COVID-19: Audrey's story

Audrey Schneider lives in a tight-knit community of mostly seniors where neighbours are used to getting together regularly. They gather to play games, celebrate special events and to share meals. When the current public health crisis of COVID-19 meant that many of her friends who were returning from vacations in the sunny south had to stay home and self-isolate - and she knew her neighbour's birthday was fast approaching - she any her friends decided to take to their driveways to celebrate the birthday boy, at a distance.
