What is the municipal land licensing program?
Strathcona County provides the opportunity for individuals to license certain municipal lands for use as pasture land or hay. Not all municipal lands are available for license. The County may consider municipal lands not listed in the program however, they are evaluated on an individual basis only.
How does the program work?
Every fall, the County posts (on this website) the properties available for license for the next spring. Each license is for a three (3) year term, unless otherwise stated and the licensee is responsible to pay the annual taxes on the municipal land in addition to the yearly license fees (based on the tender bid).
The process for submitting a tender bid will be posted on the website. Sealed bids are submitted to Strathcona County prior to the specified closing date. Bids are not accepted after the tender process is closed.
