What is the status of my fire permit?
Please wait at least 24 hours after applying before checking the status of your fire permit.
To check your status:
1. Log on to your ePermit account.
2. Go to the “Permits & Inspections” tab at the top of the screen.
3. Select “Permit Manager”.
You can also apply for a fire permit in person.
- Fire Station 6 (between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding Statutory holidays)
- Rural contact offices at Stations 2 and 4 (South Cooking Lake and Heartland Hall)
Fire permits are valid for one year from the date of approval.
Applicants must be the legal landowner, or have written permission from the legal landowner to obtain a fire permit.
While there is no charge for obtaining a fire permit, there are penalties for burning without one or for burning in violation of fire permit regulations.
Just before you burn, find out if burning is allowed at that time. The burning status will change based on current or projected weather and/or wildfire hazard conditions as well as available firefighting resources.
