Now hiring election workers

Interested in working during the election?

Strathcona County is now accepting applications for election workers for the municipal and school trustee elections, being held on Monday, October 16, 2017.

The Election Office will be hiring 350 workers. This includes workers for several Advance Vote days.

Positions, qualifications, compensation and the online application are available online. Competitions will remain open until all positions are filled.

New this election, Strathcona County will be encouraging high school students, 16 years of age or older, to work at voting stations on Election Day, through its Youth at the Booth outreach program.

Applicants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the voting stations. Required training will be provided.

The Election Office is located on the 3rd Floor, North Wing of the Community Centre at 401 Festival Lane, in Sherwood Park. Office hours are: 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Nomination Day: September 18

Voters will elect the positions: Mayor, Councillors (8) for Strathcona County, and Board Trustees for Elk Island Catholic Schools, Elk Island Public Schools – all to serve a four-year term in office.
