Rain barrel and composter sale
Need a rain barrel or composter?
Starting Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 12 noon, rain barrels and composters will be pre-sold to Strathcona County residents on a first come, first serve basis. Proof of residency is required.
Step 1. Pre-purchase your rain barrels or composter
Visit one of the following locations on May 5 starting at noon:
- Millennium Place
- 2001 Premier Way
- Glen Allan Recreation Complex
- 199 Georgian Way
- Strathcona Wilderness Centre
- Township road 530 and range road 212
Step 2. Pick up
You must be able to pick up your rain barrel or composter at the Strathcona Public Services Yard on one of the designated pick up dates below to participate. All sales final. No refunds will be issued. Unclaimed rain barrels and composters will be donated to charity.
- Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon
- Tuesday, May 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Rain barrels
- Each barrel holds 200 litres of water and comes fitted with a garden hose adapter, over flow spout and mesh screening. The barrels are made of recycled plastic.
- $50.00 each (including GST)

Composters
The backyard composter kits include a kitchen scrap pail, Wingdigger (compost mixer), composting guide and an Earth Machine composter.
