Strathcona County is looking to partner with a local non-profit group to bag and sell compost and is now accepting applications.
Two compost sale opportunities are available this spring. One sale will be held at the Baseline Road Recycle Station and the other at a rural location to be determined. Both events will be held on a Saturday in May. Approximately 90 per cent of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the group.
Send an email to greenroutine@strathcona.ca with the following:
- information about your group
- which event you would like to participate in
- how you would like to use the funding
- how many volunteers you expect to help with the sale (we recommend at least 10 to 15 strong volunteers who are able to bag and carry the compost)
Groups will be evaluated based on the above criteria. Once we have reviewed all applications, we will contact the successful group. Groups must be available for a few hours on the Friday before the sale for set up.
