Halloween safety
The Strathcona County RCMP is teaming up with community partners this Halloween to ensure that all trick-or-treaters enjoy a safe and fun evening of collecting treats in numerous County neighbourhoods. Along with the RCMP; Strathcona County Transit, The Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club and Strathcona County Citizens On Patrol will be involved in this years initiative.
The Crusaders will be out walking various neighbourhoods wearing their white team jerseys and just like Citizen's On Patrol, will be extra eyes and ears for police while little ghosts and goblins are out going door to door trick-or-treating.
The RCMP are happy to announce that this year they will be joined by Strathcona County Transit which will have their regular evening bus service running throughout the County. Parents are requested to tell their children that in the event they encounter any problems while trick-or-treating, any transit bus is a safe place they can go to for help.
Strathcona County RCMP are encouraging all motorists to slow down, especially in residential areas, on Halloween night and to stay alert for the large number of young people that will be out that evening.
